Who we are
This website is operated by Bilkau Irish Wolfhounds ("Bilkau", "we", "us"), a small home-based breeding programme and breed resource. Our address is 50 Watercombe Road, Farmall, Randburg, Gauteng, South Africa. You can reach us on 082 458 7557 or at kim@wolfhound.co.za.
What we collect
When you use the contact form, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, phone number if supplied, the subject of your enquiry and your message. If you phone, email or WhatsApp us, we receive the contact details and content associated with that conversation.
Our form provider also processes technical information needed to operate and protect the form, which may include your IP address, submission time and the page from which the form was sent.
We do not run advertising or analytics, set tracking cookies or build advertising profiles about visitors.
Why we use it
We use this information to receive and respond to your enquiry. Where relevant, we may also use it to discuss a visit, offer breed or rescue guidance, assess whether a future Irish Wolfhound placement may be suitable and maintain appropriate breeder records. We do not sell or rent your information.
How the enquiry form works
We use Web3Forms, a service operated by Web3Creative, to receive, validate, protect, temporarily store and forward form submissions to our inbox. Web3Forms uses infrastructure providers including Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and Hetzner. Its spam-protection providers, such as CleanTalk or Akismet, may receive an IP address and email address when used to assess a submission.
International processing
Submitting the form means your information is processed outside South Africa. Web3Creative operates from India and its infrastructure and subprocessors operate in multiple countries. Web3Forms states that it uses contractual, organisational and technical safeguards for these transfers. If you do not want to use the form, you can contact us directly by phone or email instead.
How long we keep it
Web3Forms states that submitted form data has a physical time-to-live of no more than three years unless it is deleted earlier, although how long a submission remains visible in its service can depend on the service plan. We keep correspondence in our inbox and breeder records only while it remains useful for the enquiry, placement process or an appropriate breeder record, and no longer than necessary for those purposes. You may ask us to delete your information, subject to any record we are required or reasonably entitled to retain.
Security and other contact methods
Web3Forms states that it encrypts information in transit and at rest. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we receive, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
If you contact us through email or WhatsApp, those providers process your message under their own privacy terms and may also process information outside South Africa.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access to or correction of it, object to certain processing, or ask for deletion where applicable. To make a request, contact us on 082 458 7557 or at kim@wolfhound.co.za.
If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
